Finding Your Threshold

Today I would like to tell you about the undeniably powerful concept that I believe God allowed me to recognize at the time it happened, as well as harness its power and while doing so chronicle my journey in a way that I could track my progress and share it with others.
I call this concept finding your threshold. Like most of you this term made me think of a doorway however, Webster defines threshold as; The point at which a physiological or psychological effect begins to be produced.
Have I got your attention?
It was a regular day like any other I had spent in prison reliving my mistakes and beating myself up for the pile of burnt rubble that had become my life. I sat wondering when I'd finally hit rock bottom and change my life like I'd heard so many other people talk about.
Then it hit me like a bolt of lightning, there is no such thing as rock bottom. It simply doesn't exist. You are either alive or dead or somewhere in between but there is no such thing as rock bottom.
The reason I say this and truly believe it is because I've hit this so called rock bottom more times than I can count. The fact is we can hit a new low as human beings, a place worse than we've ever been and yet because of our incredible ability to adapt we become accustom to this new low and it becomes our new normal. We then learn to accept our fallen state and with time adjust until we fall again to a new low and without an outside intervention or overwhelming burst of internal motivation can repeat over and over until our final low, death.
That day I realized I was waiting for a destination that didn't exist and if I wanted my life to change I would have to change it. I also realized I had been falling for so long that it would take an incredible and intense focused effort to change my life's momentum.
I had to discover my threshold! I didn't know how I would get there but I knew it had to be done and I was the only person that could do it.

  1. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say that you’ve done a superb job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very quick for me on Safari. Superb Blog!
